Eric Gales @ Antone’s – Night 1 (pictures)

Eric Gales has mentioned on a few occasions that one of the best nights of his life was playing at Antone’s…
Anytime he steps in the building he leaves it all on stage!
“A show can be high energy or low energy but maintain the same level of intensity”
Eric very eloquently explained that he appreciates how dynamic the show can be with a smaller crowd. He likened it to how different Jimi Hendrix shows could be..
“Jimi could be putting on a flashy show and doing *&^#$% with his guitar… or he could be standing as still as a statue but playing his @$$ off!”
New to the band on this tour is Jonathan Lovett on keys.
He compliments the band perfectly by giving them space when needed and filling the gaps with his jazzy touch.
You would never be able to tell that he is new to the band so it will be incredible to watch how he grows further into the group.
Nil Jones transitions flawlessly between providing a groove and then accompanying Eric’s lead on his bass guitar.
His use of space really allows the band to play in the pockets and shapes the bands sound in a big way.
He is also an incredible vocalist with his spot-on falsetto harmonies.
Nick Hayes has been the heartbeat of the Eric Gales band for over 10 years now.
Always in lock step with Eric and Nil, Nick does an incredible job of understanding where Eric wants to go and then leading the band there.
The Southpaw Twosome
Perfectly in sync for 20 years and counting…
As the longest standing member of the band, it is very apparent that the chemistry between Eric Gales and bassist Nil Jones is flawless. Each can read the others next move without any communication needed. An absolutely essential characteristic in a band like this.
After the passing of his long-time guitar tech Gavin, Scott Jones has stepped into his place and brings a beautiful positive energy to the band and audience alike.
He mentioned how thankful he is to have this gig and how much he admires all the members of the band both as musicians and as human beings.
